This prestigious award for Excellence in Pandemic Management was awarded to four Presidents and four PSs from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. Given in recognition for their outstanding mobilization of healthcare initiatives enabling effective decision-making response during the COVID-19 Pandemic to protect public health, their work continues to provide ongoing accurate information, excellent healthcare, and health improvement.
Receiving the awards on behalf of their respective country Presidents were H.E. Asha-Rose Migiro, High Commissioner of Tanzania, Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadagga, Minister for EA Affairs Uganda, H.E. Mr. Manoah Esipisu, High Commissioner of Kenya to the United Kingdom, Dr. Diane Atwine, MBChB, Permanent Secretary at the Uganda Ministry of Health, and H.E. The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi.
