Nigeria’s Afro-pop star Tiwa Savage has arrived in Uganda ahead of Tiwa Live in Kampala show happening Friday July 29,2022.
Tiwa jetted in Entebbe International Airport at 02:57 PM and was welcomed by a team of media personalities and event organizers headed by the Talent Africa boss Ali Alibhai.
The concert, dubbed ‘“Beyonce of Africa”’ which will be happening at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, will host female–only artists including Uganda’s top singers Vinka,Winnie Nwagi and Karole Kasita among others with an effort to empower female musicians from Uganda and the globe. The show will also feature all female DJs.
Tiwa, 42, is well known for spearheading equality and fair space for women’s voices to be heard. The ‘Koroba ‘ crooner also started a movement,#WeAreTired to fight against the mistreatment ladies and victims of the gender-based violence receive, which later turned out into a foundation, known as the We Are Tired foundation
Tiwa, received an honorary doctorate from her alma mater, the University of Kent for her music career.
