RUPARELIA FOUNDATION: Thousands Receive Free Eye Medical Services in Kamuli

Thousands of people in Kamuli district and surrounding areas have benefited from free eye medical services courtesy of Ruparelia Foundation.

The massive health camp was conducted at Shree Bhavin Samala Street in Kamuli municipality to access free medical attention.

First Deputy Prime Minister Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga opened the camp.

The two-day free eye medical camp offers free checks, treatment, eye glasses and cataract surgeries.

According Ruparelia Foundation, over 751 people embraced the first day, 657 people screened, 83 surgeries registered and 48 surgeries had been conducted by 4PM.

Mrs. Jyostna Ruparelia a born of Kamuli district also wife of businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia in her remarks thanked the people of Kamuli and the patients for turning up in huge numbers to receive free treatment.

Ms. Jyostna also thanked Dr. Ruparelia for always supporting her whenever she organizes events like this to give back to people and the communities.

Ms. Sheena Ruparelia who has been overseeing the preparations also noted that this is a third eye camp the Ruparelia Foundation has done but said the one in Kamuli is the first one to be conducted outside Kampala.

She commended the local leadership of Kamuli for granting them permission to conduct the medical camp and all the sponsors and partners like doctors for making it successful.

Ruparelia Foundation team led by Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia and Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga posing for a group with Kamuli Grade Senior Secondary School students who entertained the guests.

Meanwhile during the visit to Kamuli township primary school, Ms Jyostna Ruparelia on behalf of the foundation pledged to support the school by renovating some classroom blocks, provision of scholastic materials, library books and some computer accessories.
