The Abryanz Fashion and Style Awards 2022, themed ‘The Awakening’ were held at the Kampala Serena Hotel. In a star-studded guest list as well as an incredible array of talented nominees, the show began with a red carpet show off of glamour and style.
The evening of fashion brought together the fashion community in order to recognize outstanding individuals who have contributed its change and revival through the pandemic. This year’s categories covered a wide scope of the fashion fraternity and in celebration of this, many Ugandan and international personalities turned to celebrate fashion.
While categories such as “emerging fashion brands” recognized the fresh, but outstanding fashion brands that made a name in the industry, the “Most Stylish Music Video” category recognized the fashionable efforts of musicians in creating eye-catching visuals along with their music.
This year’s ASFA included eight categories for the honorary award, and 18 categories voted on by the public. The awards highlighted personalities, brands, influencers, and designers who are positively impacting the industry.
The show saw music performances from singer Gabriel K who redefined stage performance; he did it exactly how it is on bigger shows happening in New York, among other cities. Gabriel K , having the dancers right on point, must have taken a year training for his performance as it was seen all the way from the costume, dance styles among others, surely, no one did it better than Gabriel K.
Moments later after a series of award giveaways and Allan Tonik’s performance, Jackie Chandiru, on her side, did justice, performing her timeless hits of all time including; Agasi and Gold Digger among others, a thing that kept revelers cheering to her performance and great dance moves, one could tell she was enjoying it and seems to have fully returned to claim her position.
It was yet another exciting moment when Pastor Wilson Bugembe asked revelers to light up their phones and dedicate their time to God in honor and having kept them alive mostly during Covid19.
Bugembe literally brought church to Serena and everybody liked it, they worshipped and praised the lord with his ‘Omwoyo We’ song.
The show would later on at around 1:37am, feature performance from Winnie Nwagi who entertained revelers with her songs Matala, Jangu and Malaika among others.
And just as revelers thought it was over, then came time for Abryanz’s collection showcase at 2:17am exciting the fashion enthusiasts the more, bringing the show to a close when they never wanted more of it. It was indeed incredible and will remain one of the best fashion shows of the land ever.
