The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has today unveiled MTN MoMo as the official payments partner for the upcoming Uganda International Trade Fair (UITF), scheduled to take place from 2nd to 12th October 2025 at the UMA Showgrounds, Lugogo.

The annual Trade Fair, organized by UMA, is one of the largest multi-sectoral exhibitions in the region, attracting local, regional, and international exhibitors. This year’s event will run under the theme: “Sustainable Industrialisation for Inclusive Growth, Employment and Wealth Creation.”

As the official payments partner, MTN MoMo will provide seamless digital payment solutions to enhance convenience for both exhibitors and visitors.

Visitors to the Uganda International Trade Fair will enjoy a more convenient experience through the MoMo Ticketing platform, where they shall purchase discounted tickets in advance and avoid queues at the gates. Inside the exhibition, shoppers will be able to Pay with MoMo for goods and services while accessing assorted discounts on selected products, courtesy of MTN MoMo. To crown the experience, MTN will also provide an exclusive 5G internet experience throughout the Trade Fair’s duration.

In his remarks, the National Standards Council Chairman, Eng. James Kalibala who was the Chief Guest spoke about the relevance of continued innovation to expand market for Uganda’s local products

“For the last 31 years, this event has been a beacon of innovation and commerce. Our commitment is quality, authenticity and local excellence.”

In his comments about the partnership, John Isabirye, a Key Accounts Manager at MTN MoMo Uganda, said:

“We are delighted to partner with UMA for the Uganda International Trade Fair 2025. The theme of ‘Sustainable Industrialisation for Inclusive Growth, Employment and Wealth Creation’ resonates strongly with MTN MoMo’s mission to drive financial inclusion and digital innovation. With MoMo, we are making trade and payments more seamless, safe, and accessible to everyone. From buying discounted tickets, to paying for goods and services at the fair. This partnership is another demonstration of our commitment to improving lives through innovations that matter.”

This partnership underscores the role of technology and digitization in driving sustainable industrialization, supporting businesses, and empowering consumers. Ugandans are encouraged to purchase their tickets conveniently from their homes, offices, and schools using MTN MoMo, recharge their wallets, and enjoy a wide range of discounts when they Pay with MoMo at the upcoming Uganda International Trade Fair.
