In an interview with this website a few weeks ago, singer Dax said he wanted his fans to “feel the vibes” at his first-ever concert and that is exactly what he delivered to those who attended last night.

After running concert adverts for several months starting in September last year, Dax faced a setback in June when Hotel Africana, the original venue, cancelled the event.

The Hotel’s management cited that he wasn’t “qualified” to hold a concert there, a move that left Dax disappointed and fans concerned.

But instead of backing down, Dax and his team adjusted course. They changed the venue, stuck to the original date, and doubled down on their promise.

When Friday, August 29 finally
arrived, all roads led to the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Showgrounds, where Dax hosted fans for his first ever Dax Vibez All White Concert.

Around 11 PM, Fenon Events dimmed the lights, and the crowd erupted into chants, eagerly awaiting Dax’s entrance. The audience, many dressed in white to match the theme, filled the
venue with energy and anticipation. For many, this wasn’t just a concert, it was a celebration of Dax’s journey, his music, and Uganda’s vibrant music scene.

Dax stepped on stage dressed in an all-white outfit accented with a golden overcoat. For a moment, he seemed to look at the crowd in disbelief, a mix of awe and nerves typical of an
artiste’s debut.

Supported by a 7-man live band, he opened his set with “Until I Met U”, “Ommala”, “Mayumba Kumi”, and a special tribute song dedicated to his elder brother, Robert “Bobi Wine” Kyagulanyi.

He followed up with performances of “My Hero”, “Ku Sure”, and “Idea” alongside Elijah Kitaka, before briefly stepping off stage.

Kitaka kept the momentum alive, even getting Bobi Wine and his wife Barbie on their feet dancing to his hit “Ekyange”.

Returning with renewed energy, Dax performed “Nze Wuwo”, “Nyweza”, and “Mpola” before inviting his artiste brothers Banjo Man, Mike Wine, and Eddy Yawe on stage for a powerful moment of family unity in music.

However, as the concert approached midnight, Dax had to race against Kampala’s concert curfew. He wrapped up with a flurry of songs, including “Eno Love”, and two of his most popular collaborations, “Believe” along with Swangz Avenue’s Vinka, and “Tabbu” with Team No Sleep’s Ava Peace.

The All White Concert wasn’t just another show, it was a turning point for Dax. Where many had written him off following the early concert cancellation, he proved his critics wrong. The
UMA Showgrounds didn’t just host a concert, fans witnessed the emergence of a star.
