To the great people of Uganda,
One of the fundamental pillars of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has always been equal opportunities for all with a special focus on empowering the girl child. Today, we proudly recognize a leader who is turning this vision into a reality: Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda.
As the first female Speaker to serve with such distinction, Hon. Among has consistently proven to be a voice for the voiceless, a pillar of strength for the vulnerable, and a fierce advocate for national unity. Her leadership reflects not only dedication and intelligence but also compassion for every region and citizen of Uganda regardless of background, status, or gender.
Hon. Among has placed the girl child at the heart of her agenda. Through her initiatives and passionate support, she has ensured that issues affecting girls especially in education, health, and sports are given the national attention they deserve.
One clear example is her unwavering support for Uganda’s She Cranes, our national netball team. By championing their cause, she has sent a strong message to every Ugandan girl: you matter, and your dreams are valid. Her presence and support at various sports functions is more than symbolic ,it is a practical commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
A Stand for National Morality and Values
In a time when traditional values are under threat globally, Hon. Among took a bold and patriotic stand against the promotion of homosexuality in Uganda. She refused to bow to foreign pressure and instead stood with the people of Uganda, protecting our cultural values and moral fabric. Her courage and conviction helped shield the country from a wave that could have destabilized our societal foundations.
Unlike some leaders who serve selectively, Hon. Among serves inclusively. From Karamoja to the central region, from West Nile to the western and eastern parts of the country, her leadership reflects a deep understanding that Uganda’s strength lies in unity and balanced development.
It is not by accident that Hon. Anita Annet Among has risen to become one of the most respected leaders in Uganda today. It is through her hard work, discipline, love for her country, and commitment to the values of the NRM that she continues to inspire millions.
As citizens, let us celebrate and support leaders who truly work for the people. Hon. Anita Among has set the pace, not only as a woman in leadership but as a national figure who embodies integrity, patriotism, and vision.
Let us spread this message, let us support her work, and let us continue building the Uganda we all deserve.
For God and My Country.
