Afrikan Moon Events has announced the launch of the Excellence Schools Awards (ESA), a new national platform designed to celebrate outstanding achievement and innovation within Uganda’s education sector.
With just a short while left to the D-day, the awards will run under the theme “Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring the Future.” They will form part of the larger Back to School Vibes – TikTok Edition festival.
Organizers say the awards aim to shine a spotlight on schools that are shaping the country’s next generation through excellence in academics, creativity, leadership, and co-curricular engagement.
“The ESA Awards will celebrate institutions that continue to raise the bar and inspire learners across Uganda,” Afrikan Moon Events said in a statement.
A range of categories has been unveiled for the inaugural edition. These include Best Performing Secondary School, Best Performing Primary School, School with the Strongest Alumni Network, Most Popular School (Public Vote), and the coveted School of the Year.
The awards will also recognize excellence in talent and sports, with categories such as Best Music, Dance & Drama School and Best in Sports School, alongside other culture and talent-based recognitions.
The event will be hosted within the three-day Back to School Vibes, TikTok Edition festival, which is expected to bring together students, educators, influencers, and performers from across the country.
Organizers say the festival will create an interactive space for schools to showcase creativity, innovation, and talent through performances, exhibitions, and competitions.
Afrikan Moon Events noted that the initiative is intended not only to celebrate past achievements but also to encourage institutions to continue striving for higher standards.
“By celebrating excellence, we hope to inspire the future, to motivate schools and learners to embrace innovation, pursue creativity, and foster a culture of continuous growth,” the organizers said.
As preparations intensify, anticipation is rising among schools nationwide. The debut of the Excellence Schools Awards is expected to set a new standard for honouring academic and co-curricular achievement as the education sector ushers in 2025 with renewed energy and inspiration.
