Each day of the Nyege Nyege Festival brings something distinct to revellers, and this year has been no exception. The festival, which kicked off on Thursday, November 20th, continues through Sunday the 23rd at Adrift Uganda in Kangulumira, Kayunga.
Following the success of Day One, Day Two picked up even stronger, drawing in a bigger crowd and offering a dynamic blend of music genres and performances across multiple stages. Although the evening started off with slightly less energy than expected, the momentum quickly shifted as performances rolled in after 7 PM.
Artistes and DJs lit up stages including The Portal, Dark Star, Hakuna Kulala, and Sunrise. The Portal which boasted of the largest crowd featured a standout performance from Papalass Big Band featuring Joyce. NTV’s DJ Lynda Ddane delivered an electrifying set that had revellers fully vibing until a power outage abruptly cut her time short.
Local rapper Fik Fameica, performing at Nyege Nyege for the first time, thrilled the audience with a string of his popular hits sparking a strong reaction from Ugandan fans. The Arsenal Mikebe Band, no strangers to the Nyege Nyege stage, raised the bar yet again with an electrifying performance that is surely still the talk of those who filled The Portal.
Among the closing acts for Day Two was English grime MC Flowdan, whose set proved a standout for lovers of fast-paced emceeing. Other artists who captivated the crowd included DJs Blue Moon and Tash LC on the Hakuna Kulala stage, as well as GodsFave and Poe Beda on the Dark Star stage.
This year’s Nyege Nyege Festival is organised by Talent Africa Group in partnership with Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Uganda Waragi, Trace TV, NBS TV, NRG Radio, Explore Uganda, Red Bull, and Fairway Hotel.
