Ahead of the much anticipated President Museveni’s state of the nation address on COVID-19, cabinet has approved the resumption of all sports activities but without fans.

With football activities going on smoothly in other countries, Uganda has not been able to allow football and other sports related activities to take place since March.
According to a close source, the president was advised to give sports a greenlight since it can be played without fans and all players and club officials will be subjected to thorough testing.
“StarTimes Uganda Premier League and Uganda Fufa Big league are all slated to kick-off this October,” a source whispered to us.
Vipers Sports Club were awarded the Premier league title after playing 75% of the games. In the Big League, Myda Football Club and UPDF FC were also promoted automatically to the top flight after topping Elgon Group and Rwenzori group respectively while Mbale Heroes (Kiboga Young), Kataka FC, Ndejje University FC and Kitara FC will have to tussle it out in the play offs to determine the third promoted team.

Maroons FC, Tooro United and Proline FC were relegated from the top flight while Allan Ssewanyana’s Katwe United, Light SS FC, Saviours FC, New Vila FC, Dove FC and Kansai Plascon were also dropped to the Regional league.
