I placed my first bet on 1st December, 2020 in the champions league game between Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
Before making this ‘drastic’ move, my friend had convinced me to stake anything I had on Bayern to win, I said no. However, one day to the game, I got a strange dream and I think it was a devil! He told me, you are going to win Shs13 million. I was super excited but 30 minutes to the game, I started shivering, my body temperature changed, I felt like so weak. I turned my radio to listen to the commentary but the commentators almost gave me a heart attack. The game ended 1-1 and I felt it was the end of my life and the guy who lured me into this switched off his phone and even backlisted my number.
My bike was the only source of income since I have a family. For close to a week, I cried for financial help, I even felt like ending my life my but when I looked at my child’s smile, it gave me hope.
Luckily, my story went online before even the game was played because this guy spread the news all over my center and my fellow boda boda riders started laughing at me calling me a naïve person, indeed I felt like an immature ‘he goat’.
So, when my story went viral on the internet, I started getting calls and support. I was even called at one of the local radio stations here in Bukedea but it felt like they wanted to make me a laughing matter, I switched off.
