I placed my first bet on 1st December, 2020 in the champions league game between Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.

Before making this ‘drastic’ move, my friend had convinced me to stake anything I had on Bayern to win, I said no. However, one day to the game, I got a strange dream and I think it was a devil! It told me to sell anything that would give me money in order to stake on that game. I woke up and called someone who had been pleading to buy my motorbike, he was ready with Shs3.5 million.

I rushed to my friend who was convincing me and told him that I have sold my bike and I have the money. Since I didn’t know anything to do with betting, he staked online using his Fortebet account. He told me, you are going to win Shs13 million. I was super excited but 30 minutes to the game, I started shivering, my body temperature changed, I felt like so weak. I turned my radio to listen to the commentary but the commentators almost gave me a heart attack. I switched off the radio and tried sleeping but I couldn’t, I switched on the radio again and Atletico had gotten a goal already.

At that moment, even if someone wanted to cut me, I wouldn’t have felt anything because my body froze and my hair was standing. I felt like someone was hitting big drums inside my ears.

I don’t know what happened between the time Atletico scored a goal and when Bayern got a late equalizer because I started functioning again when that radio guy shouted penalty for Bayern.

The game ended 1-1 and I felt it was the end of my life and the guy who lured me into this switched off his phone and even backlisted my number.

My bike was the only source of income since I have a family. For close to a week, I cried for financial help, I even felt like ending my life my but when I looked at my child’s smile, it gave me hope.

Luckily, my story went online before even the game was played because this guy spread the news all over my center and my fellow boda boda riders started laughing at me calling me a naïve person, indeed I felt like an immature ‘he goat’.

So, when my story went viral on the internet, I started getting calls and support. I was even called at one of the local radio stations here in Bukedea but it felt like they wanted to make me a laughing matter, I switched off.

I received a call from Uganda Bettors Association and they sent me Shs500,000 as a relief. A week later, they called me again and told me, the only way to recover my money was through betting, I told them I never wanted to hear anything to do with betting again in my life. They insisted and told me that they were putting me on a VVIP special group to help me recover my money. They told me to use part of the money they sent me for buying a smartphone and create an account with any betting company, since I didn’t know about this, they recommended Fortebet and Betway. After a long period of hesitation, I gave in and bought a phone, after that, I called them and told them that I was ready.

The first odds they sent me lost and I had staked Shs50,000. The entire week also went and it was dry and I had already spent close to Shs300,000 and I was giving up but one Saturday, they called me and said ‘we have a backroom ticket with an odd of over 400 but it has 14 teams on the same sheet and also, we have the special vvip ticket but we recommend you to stake only Shs20,000 on the backroom ticket.’ I said okay, since 20k is not much, let me give it a try again. I staked and at around midnight, they called me congratulating me for the win, when I checked, my account was showing money! I was super excited and that was my breakthrough.

Since then I have become someone, I never imagined that I would be, I am now a big man and recently, I bought a second-hand drone (taxi) and now I have bigger projects am looking at like building my plots.

Uganda Bettors Association has helped me a lot. I want to thank everyone at UBA for making me who I am today! Yes, we lose at times but a win on other big odds means maximum profit!

I recommend everyone struggling to live a life through betting to get to Uganda Bettors Association, they are the best and they will help you make money while staying at home.
