Viewers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to seeing DR Congo winger Neekens Kebano in EFL Championship action for Fulham on Saturday 29 January 2021.
DStv and GOtv is the only true home of football in Africa, offering a range and depth of action that no other rival can match – it’s literally ‘Unbeatable Football’! If you’re going to spend your money on something, it may as well be on the best football in the world.
The ongoing Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations 2021 in Cameroon means that many players from our continent based in Europe are away from their clubs during January and February, but DRC failed to qualify for the tournament, leaving Kebano free to feature for Fulham.
The 29-year-old, who was born in France but has been a DRC international since 2014, joined Fulham from Belgian club Genk in 2016. He has made over 100 appearances for the Cottagers, who have ‘yo-yoed’ between the Championship and the Premier League.
Kebano has chipped in with a steady flow of goals and assists – both as a starter and off the bench – for Fulham this term as the London club seeks a return to the top table of English football, and he will be eager to add to his tally when Blackpool come to Craven Cottage for this Saturday afternoon clash.
Fulham boss Marco Silva outlined the importance of Kebano earlier this season: “It’s good for us that we have a good number of players that know really well the competition and what it means to play for Fulham Football Club in the Championship. [Kebano is] a player who knows really well the club, knows really well the competition. Of course, he’s a player that is a part of my plans.”
The Leopards winger, though, is playing down the plaudits he has received and insists he is focused on helping Fulham attain promotion.
“It is always a pleasure to hear praise from the opposition journalists, but I’m just focused on my goal with the team, we have the same goal and that is the most important thing for me and the team,” said Kebano.
“This month is very important because we have a game each three days so it is the best way to win the maximum points. The fans are very important, like where we missed some energy they are always there to push us so with their support we know we can be very strong.”
