The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) 2025 kicked into high gear with a vibrant press conference that blended culture, entertainment, and national pride, topped with the smooth spirit of Uganda Waragi, dubbed “Uganda’s Pride.”
Hillary Baguma, Brand Manager – Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), lit up the occasion with a stirring declaration, “We are here to celebrate what makes us truly Ugandan. We are celebrating togetherness.”

Also commanding the spotlight was Aly Alibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group (TAG), who emphasized the power of entertainment in driving tourism, “Entertainment is a gateway to tourism. Festivals like POATE are where culture, creativity, and travel meet. We’re proud to turn the Speke Convention Centre into a cultural powerhouse.”
The presser also featured an exciting announcement from Uganda’s iconic girl group Blu 3, who promised a spectacular comeback performance on May 24 the grand finale of POATE 2025.
“Expect nothing less than magic! It will be a performance Uganda will never forget,” the trio assured.
With over 300 delegates from 50+ countries in attendance this year and more than 300 exhibitors, POATE 2025 is cementing its position as the region’s top tourism and cultural expo. The press conference proved that Uganda isn’t just promoting destinations, it’s creating an experience.
