
Noise Nation which is a collaboration between House Of DJs and Swangz Avenue is an annual social event aimed at celebrating people who make noise in their unique way through music, creativity, cooking, sports, content creating, fashion, style and design.
The first edition of this event featuring Jamaican Dancehall singer Dexta Daps successfully took place at Lugogo Cricket Oval last Saturday the 14th of December, offering revellers a fun experience that must still the be the conservation on their lips.
The event was kicked off with fun filled day activities that kept attendees busy like the 3×3 basketball tournament which was literally the biggest highlight during the day although there were other things that took people’s attention like live DJ mixes by DJs like Naselow, Roja, Venom, Dread Lazer, Cross, Eyo Mackcus, and Vee without forgetting the huge decorated Uganda Waragi tent that was fully stocked with drinks, and for those who felt hungry, there were various food vendors to chose from.
After the day time activities, the official MC took to stage at a few minutes past 7 and officially opened the night session with an eye-catching Ekikuumba fashion showcase which was latter followed the Swangz All Star performance that saw Swangz Avenue signed artistes Azawi, Zafaran, Vinka, Elijah Kitaka and Zagazillions perform some songs off their recently released All Star Album as well as a few of their other songs.
The Benon and Vampos Noise Check which followed later was also an exciting one that saw them hype some of the hit songs that have been produced at Swangz Avenue label before inviting rappers Navio and The Mith for a surprise performance.
The last performances ahead of the main performance came from Nutty Neithan, Dax Vybez, Ava Peace, John Blaq and lastly DJ Vanss who reignited the Dancehall vibe by playing some captivating Dancehall music that ushered the revellers into Dexta Daps vibe.
At exactly 11: 41 PM, Dexta took to stage with a 7-man band and with no waste of a second, he started his live performance performing songs off his big catalogue like You & I, Forever, WiFi, Twinkle, Breaking News, 7 Eleven, F U, Owner, No Underwear, Call Me If before he took a brief break and later returned with Leader featuring Masicka, Shabba Madda Pot, and lastly Squeeze
From his powerful vocal display, one could tell that Dexta was from the word go ready and excited to perform. He came with all his energy straight from Seaview, Kingston, Jamaica to stage and he displayed some of it with dancer Ritah Dancehall.
Also, the crowd gave him a good reception singing along his songs and throughout his 40-minute performance, he would have a few seconds to thank Uganda for showing him love and being his first ever time in Africa, he made sure he treated his Ugandan fans to an unforgettable night.
