Comics have a hard job to perform while on stage but no matter what they do, they ought to make their fans rather audiences laugh and that’s the anthem!

And making hundreds laugh their lungs out, is even more intriguing for comedy lovers and yes, that’s what exactly happened on Friday July 7, 2023 for, the top comedy duo Madrat & Chiko were doing their job and they did it very well, really well!

At first, the writer heard some of the fans say, “These guys are repeating jokes.”

And yes, it was indeed true, but hey, look, that’s all comedians do world over, yes, they do recite jokes as long as they make sense.

And by the way, sometimes, comics find it difficult to do their job well but they try as much as possible to do it no matter what the circumstances surrounding them and as well taking into account the aftermath of their jokes.

Depending on one’s taste, whether skits or sketch, situational, slapstick, parody or satire, stand up and black comedy among others, they all have to deliver laughter, an aspect often seen as a way to cope with difficult situations and yes, it relieves one from stress and kills pain.

Talking about Nseko Buseko 4th edition, its needless to say hundreds turned up for the show and they enjoyed every bit of the night from the band to music performances from top singers including Eddy Kenzo, Pastor Wilson Bugembe and Alien Skin among others all the way to exciting action-packed comedic lines that rocked all evening and night long!

The night was kicked off with band music, just to hype the show and to spice up the evening and it all went on well until it had to fade away at exactly 9:00pm. Comic Patrick Salvado alias Man from Ombokolo would later on step on stage at 9:03pm and welcomed the audience to the show and thanked them for supporting local shows in Uganda as it was clearly showcased by the big numbers in the house that filled the Lugogo based UMA Multipurpose hall for a great time.

“Burna boy comes here and sells out, Tiwa Savage comes here and sells out, how about us local artists? Thanks for supporting these special talents,” he said. “This show is very expensive; honestly, we couldn’t have done it without sponsors, goes ahead and names sponsors…Talent Africa, Uganda Waragi and Galaxy FM among others.”

Salvado would later on talk about DNA testing, a trending aspect in Uganda so far and called on the next performers on the line up.

Hundreds of revelers enjoying the Nseko Buseko show season 4.

At exactly 9:40pm, Eddy Kenzo, on stepping on stage, got the crowd roaring, and would later on pave way to Madrat & Chiko who came on stage, with Awilo’s ‘Gate Le Coin’ hit, asked revelers who they really are. In one of their lines, the duo tasked Hon. Muhammad Nsereko to clap his hands,

“Nsereko nkubira Ngalo, nkubira Ngalo kati….“they said.

Nsereko had nothing but to do it and they finally let him assume his sit after 1-2 minutes of hesitation

They recited jokes from the behaviour of women towards men, all the way to imitating how Americans speak versus other countries among others.

It was indeed a lit night, one that wasn’t short of exciting entertainment from musicians and comedic lines from comedian Uncle Mark among other amazing acts who all brought their energetic performances, with each never wanting to be over powered!

Until next year when season 5 happens, we sign out but hey, please share with us the type of comedy you love most in the meantime!
