A tragic accident at Kasaka Senior Secondary School has left three students dead and eighteen Injured
The Territorial Police in Gomba has confirmed that a fatal accident involving a Sino truck with registration number UBL 790J occurred today, March 14th, 2023, at around 3:30 PM.
According to the Uganda Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, the accident claimed the lives of three students on the spot, identified as Evelyn Namagembe, a student in form five, Mawanda Bosco, in S2, and Asege Hilda, in S4 and as well injured 18 students.
“It’s alleged that the sino truck driver lost control and rammed into Kasaka Senior Secondary school fence, proceeded through to the school computer Lab that was occupied by students, killing three students on spot and injuring other eighteen (18),” Enanga said.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver was driving at a high speed, and rammed into the Kasaka Senior Secondary school fence, proceeding through to the school computer Lab that was occupied by students.
The police have since arrested Wanume Abudala, 26, and he is currently in custody as investigations continue.
The school administration expressed their shock and grief over the tragedy and sent their condolences to the families of the deceased students.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and the police have promised to provide more details in due course. The tragic incident has left the school community in shock and mourning.
