ROKE Telkom, a Ugandan home-grown public service provider for voice and data communications services has extended fiber internet connectivity to Moroto, Uganda in an effort to improve business processes and break communication barriers between the region and the rest of the country.

Michael Mukasa, the Chief Commercial Officer at ROKE Telkom said that the primary objective of expanding fast connectivity to this region is solely to provide affordable, reliable and fast internet connectivity services that will see an improvement and growth in business processes for the corporate companies stationed there.

“Moroto is a district with opportunities for Uganda, ranging from tourism, NGO activities, agricultural practices, amongst other sectors. The pandemic hit and highlighted the need for communities to have steady internet connectivity to ensure continuity of business activities regardless of its effects such as the lockdown,” he mentioned

“Therefore, it is key for us to identify the gaps, understand the needs, and offer reliable solutions that will be beneficial to the territory’s improvement. In this case, Roke Telkom is offering broadband connectivity that will be a positive contributor to the already existing and new economic activities in Moroto,” Mukasa commented.

ROKE Telkom has been at the helm of providing affordable, reliable, and fast internet for Ugandans for the past 15 years. The Internet service provider has been in operation as a locally grown brand and has been fully licensed since 2006 by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) as a Public Service Provider (capacity Resale, Voice & Data) and Public Infrastructure Provider.

“We anticipate an uptake in the different services that we offer to Moroto and its occupants, and pledge our commitment to offer innovative solutions and efficiency in our operations as we work towards improving and increasing connectivity across Uganda,” Amanya Atuhaire the Brand Manager, ROKE Telkom stated.
