Karis Medical, a rising force in Uganda’s healthcare sector, today proudly marks a major milestone in its mission to transform healthcare delivery in the country. In a dual celebration, the organization officially launches its first Medical Centre in Kyanja at West Mall, and hosts a thanksgiving family event at the site of its flagship Karis Hospital and Christian Nursing University in Kasangati.

The neighbourhood Medical Centre, located at West Mall, Kyanja is designed to provide both outpatient and general medical services, staffed with trained professionals offering compassionate and competent care. The centre is part of a national roll-out plan that will see community-based Karis facilities established across Uganda.

Guided by values of excellence, integrity, hospitality, and compassion, Karis Medical is shaping a new era of healthcare by investing in infrastructure, education, and accessibility. As the broader vision unfolds, Karis seeks to become a trusted partner in the health journey of individuals and families throughout the country.

The Karis Hospital in Gayaza Lutete, scheduled to open in 2027, will be a 125 bed modern hospital dedicated to the care of women and children, and will offer a broad range of general and specialist medical services. The project also includes a Christian Nursing University with a capacity to train 400 students, preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals with a foundation rooted in excellence, compassion, and integrity.

“This is more than a construction site, it’s the foundation of hope, healing, and opportunity,” said Andy Agaba, Founder at Karis Medical. “As we celebrate this milestone, we also launch the first of many Karis Neighbourhood Medical Centres, beginning today with the Kyanja facility. Our goal is to bring quality healthcare closer to the people one community at a time.”

Today’s Thanksgiving event at the construction site in Kasangati brings together over 500 guests, including community leaders, partners, healthcare workers, and families, to celebrate the tangible progress made. The event features a tour of the ongoing work, fun family activities, and a reaffirmation of Karis Medical’s commitment to delivering quality, affordable, and Christ-centered healthcare.
