KCCA FC officials are keenly examining 17 year-old prolific forward, Haruna Lukwago, who is willing to join the 13 times Uganda Premier League (UPL) Champions from Eastern Regional side, Mbale Heroes.
For more than a week now, Lukwago has been seen training at Lugogo with KCCA, understandably for close monitoring and assessment. The club is interested in making his stay there official and permanent, or he would’ve been sent home already, had he not impressed already during that period.

A tricky dribbler with pace, the teenager most preferably, for efficiency operates on the wings. Notably though, he was also recently productively utilised as a right back for Masaza Cup side Buddu FC as they became Champions this year. His versatility is certified.
At Mbale Heroes last season, he filled in all the forward gaps in left, right and central positions on The Surgeons attack. At KCCA, he is most certainly being considered for the same role as there are so many forward players exiting Lugogo this window- they have to be replaced.
Forwards Brian Aheebwa, Davis Kasirye, Patrick Kaddu and Erisa Sekisambu alongside Samson Andrew Kigozi and Yasser Mugerwa are just but some of those who will most probably not be KCCA players come next season, per multiple local reports.
In KCCA’s ‘tiresome’ search (that sent them ‘panicking into all those veterans’ signings’ last season) for a player who can score goals, they just might have finally found themselves one in the youngster- he’s genuinely young and promising; he had 15 goal contributions last season- scoring eight and assisting seven times to send Mbale Heroes as far as the Uganda Cup last eight and the Eastern Region playoff final.

When he scores, he celebrates like French International, Kylian Mbappe- he did so quite a number of times at San Siro Mbale (CRO) grounds. Hopefully, he can replicate the same at Lugogo if KCCA give him a contract and time to stay and play for them.

The forward has also previously featured for Mbarara City in the FUFA Juniors League, besides Heroes, CRO in Mbale and Rwampara Bulls in Mbarara.
At Lugogo, if the deal goes through, Lukwago will team up again with his former CRO FC Mbale mate, Ibrahim Juma who’s also his close friend. Arafat Usama, who also comes from Mbale is another familiar figure for Lukwago at KCCA.
