Odonga Otto: If a dog stands with Oulanyah, I will vote for a dog

With only days to the election of speaker of the 11th parliament where incumbent and experienced Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga is projected to retain the position, today we revisit words of the outgoing Aruu county MP, Odonga Otto in 2016 where he described Jacob Oulanyah as the most incompetent fella to preside over any parliament under the sun.

Oulanyah expressed interest in the position of speaker despite his chances for success being almost non-existent since most legislators have shun him in preference of Kadaga whom they describe as unbiased and incorruptible.

On day two of swearing-in, in 2016, Otto said he was to vote for Kadaga for speaker of parliament and Kampala Central MP Nsereko Muhammad as her Deputy.

“Actually, if Nsereko Muhammad steps down and a dog stands against Jacob Oulanyah, I will vote for a dog because he doesn’t deserve to be in that office,” Otto said describing Oulanyah as a dishonesty person.

“He has not been straight, he is a man who suspended us from parliament and yet Kadaga protected the rebel MPs from suspension from parliament. So he doesn’t even deserve being here he knows”

“Oulanyah Jacob is our son and if we are the very ones telling you that he is bad you should listen to us,” Odonga Otto added.

Meanwhile, swearing in of new MPs kicks off started this morning with 132 legislators expected to be inaugurated ahead of election of the speaker on May 24.
