On Friday last week, all roads led to Alliance Francaise for the biggest Piano People party and celebration in town organized by Vibez Nzuri.
The venue got to its maximum as piano enthusiast and music lovers started embracing the event as early as 2PM and by 5Pm, you could tell, they were ready for unmatched fun as they chugged on Captain Morgan, the show’s sponsor.
Later on at 6:08pm, the soothing sound, live piano chords went on, backed by the real Amapiano music , that captivated the audiences’ attention, the melodies, the presentation, the quality piano sound and the timbre were all great and on point.
The show can only be described as one that had great instrument arrangement, the best playing techniques and lucidity, though there weren’t enough introductory notes like it should have been since it was a very impressive and big show, the pianist, drummer and DJs set the evening to even the highest level.
It was great sound coming from the rooftop and headed straight, piecing the clouds as they disappeared slowly and eventually, the sky was clear and it was relief to the audience who had had heaven’s scare earlier on.
The incredible Amapiano, syths and wide percussive basslines was a true showcase of a candid show. It was very clear that the drums and loud extra-ordinary piano sound blared all-over the surrounding areas of Kamokya, Bukoto, Mawanda road, Kitante, Mulago and Wandegya among others.
Amazed to hear the depth of the piano music they played, it was such a cold moment, when the band, piano and drums finally disbanded, paving way to Amapiano mixes from DJ who equally kept the audience dancing and others just enjoying and nodding to the incredible sounds, never letting go the only ‘Captain’ in the house (Captain Morgan).
With all the complexities of the piano roll and drumming, both the DJ and drummer spent hours conjuring sounds out of the piano and Drum Doctor slurred into the drum with blurry pedalling, which eventually came to light, it was indeed a never-miss-show, a heavy-weight piano show at that!
ATS, being Uganda’s top events company and well known for top notch superb lighting and stage setting and management, did not leave anything to chance but made sure the event claims its name and earn the unmatched status and yes, unmatched is what it was!
An avid music show goer, a one Jessika, opened up saying she had not seen an incredible show of that calibre before and termed it as a one-of-a kind!
She went on praising the acts of the night with the drummer being her highlight of the night and said, “surely, I had never seen a great drummer who doesn’t be on the band’s world but truth is this one was all alone, on his own world but was able to pull it off, if not, even better than the band- pianist and the DJ did, right on point and you are free to say, he performed not just to the expectation but over and beyond! “
Jessika was right, we witnessed first-hand expediting the rhythm to Amapiano tunes the DJ wallowed, and though the grooves were hard, all in all, he nailed it!
This drummer clearly drew the audience closer to their hearts, and the moment the drum dissipated, revellers still needed more of it but they didn’t have any choice but to switch their attention to the ever-wracking, loudest Amapiano music mixes that floored all night long.
The ‘Piano People’ show was indeed full of fun with performances from Dejays Khurk, Kamali, Heydez, Jean, Melvin, Damze, Xhaga, Nach and Mao among others . The end saw extemporizations of melodies, brassy piano music mixes.
