StarTimes steadily shaping local content in Uganda

St. Mary’s Stadium – Kitende became the center of attraction on Saturday May 27 after celebrations rocked the area as the 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League – UPL season came to a dramatic end. Defending Champions – Vipers SC beat rivals-KCCA FC and SC Villa to the title after the three teams went into their respective fixtures with equal opportunities of emerging the 2022/23 champions.

Besides the celebrations at Kitende – fans from across the country enjoyed proceedings of the final round – owing to the fact that the influential fixtures were broadcast live via three different television channels – including Sanyuka Prime, FUFA TV, and BBS Telefayina – a feat that added – not only color but reduced on the possibility of match fixing.

The organizers looked more prepared to handle the 3 likely outcomes from the different stadiums, The stage, the iconic delivery of the trophy in a chartered helicopter by FUFA president himself Hon. Moses Magogo was proof enough that the event was well organized.

StarTimes is spearheading the promotion of local talent and productions in Africa by injecting cash in the industry and also delivering it closer to the mass audience in the most convenient and most affordable way possible.

Hannah Karema the current Miss Uganda and StarTimes Brand ambassador accompanied by other title winners in the current beauty pageant attended the crowing of this season SUPL champion in Kitende.

Miss Uganda 2023 reality show is one of the latest local competitions in Uganda that StarTimes has partnered with aiming to expand its reach across the country in the different population cohort. The beauty competitions were exclusively televised on Makula TV a flagship channel for local entertainment on StarTimes platform. Through its specialised TV channels StarTimes has a comprehensive plan to add value to locally produced content in Uganda.

Sanyuka Prime and Makula TV are StarTimes Channels in all bouquets dedicated to Local Sports and Local drama series in that order.
