In a significant nod to nurturing the future, Uganda is set to host the much-anticipated second edition of the Baby and Kids Expo from May 10th to 12th, 2024, at the UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo.

The event organized by Kiara Events, in collaboration with Kids Nook, Capital One Group, KBS TV, Belly Ballot, Bora Minds and Mama Tendo among others, promises to be a beacon of inspiration for children’s health, skills, learning, and parenting.

Running under the theme, “Inspiring Children’s Health, Skills, Learning, and Parenting,” the expo is a testament to Kiara Events’ vision of fostering a nurturing environment where children can thrive and parents can find a trove of resources.

Joweria Nabuuma, Managing Director of Kiara Events Limited, expressed excitement about the upcoming expo, emphasizing the effort put into ensuring that families are presented with unparalleled resources and expertise in child care and development.

“This year, we’re aiming to elevate the experience for our attendees, providing a platform for families to connect, learn, and play together in a way that’s both educational and fun,” Nabuuma said.

Asked by Kampala Sqoop’s Emuk Benjamen whether the kids will be subjected to any kind of competitions and probably, later on, get to walk home with gifts, Nabuuma in response said that, “We don’t have any competitions for children but rather, we have giveaways for them from different clients as they’ll be communicated later on but be sure of extra-ordinary kids entertainment all day long.”

Nabuuma is optimistic that the expo, being East African one, will in time to come be headed to operate editions in Kenya, Tanzania among others. ”Our vision to have this expo in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda as well and I am very positive, we shall achieve it all,” she said.

The Baby & Kids Expo is not just an event but a journey into the heart of family dynamics, offering a wide range of activities, knowledge-sharing sessions, and access to services and products designed to improve children’s lives. From talent shows to counselling sessions, the expo is a one-stop centre for nurturing talent and health practices.

It should be noted that the inaugural Baby & Kids expo was established way back in 2016 and has never had yet another edition which Nabuuma subjected the delay to management’s decision to bounce back with even bigger and better editions.

“It was a management decision, to regroup and strategize and deliver a better well- thought event and this time round, we plan to have it annually going forward.”

With an increasing demand for baby and child-related products across East Africa, the expo also serves as a crucial platform for exhibitors to interact directly with their audience, offering insights and special deals on a plethora of products for babies, kids, and expectant mothers.

For traders, the event is an invaluable opportunity to explore new business ventures, forge partnerships, and tap into new markets, with the benefit of making on-site sales to a diverse crowd from across the region.

As Kampala prepares to welcome families, experts, and traders to this landmark event, the Baby and Kids Expo stands as a testament to the community’s commitment to the well-being and development of its youngest members, promising a weekend filled with learning, play, and memorable experiences for all.

There will also be great performances from amazing kid performers including Athena dancers among other kid entertainers who will keep the kids busy and happy all day long.
