NBS TV and Talent Africa have announced cancellation of the UB40 Ft Ali Campbell event. The event was scheduled for December 21, 2023.
“An abrupt event has been set on Wednesday, December 20, with the head of state, which coincides with our planned soundchecks and setup. Unfortunately, the venue, Kololo, is experiencing a unique challenge, as over 1000 cars are parked for inspection in preparation for the NAM and G77 conferences. These vehicles cannot be moved, posing a significant obstacle to our Event Setup. The stringent standards required by the UB40 production team for an international artist cannot be met under these circumstances,” the organizers said in a statement Tuesday.
The Organizers say, “Our team is working diligently to mitigate the impact of this cancellation and explore potential alternative dates for the event.”
“We highly value our partnership, and your understanding during these unforeseen challenges is greatly appreciated. We remain committed to delivering exceptional events, and we will keep you updated on any developments regarding rescheduling,” reads in part a joint statement.
Prior to scheduling the concert, there were concerns as to who was coming to Kampala, with the original band disowning Ali Campell.
