Singer Mesach Semakula is not willing to give politics any chance and talk less of his forthcoming concert.
While having an Interview with Kampala Sqoop’s Emuk Benjamen, Semakula said he is politically dense and is not one of those people who mix music with politics.
“First of all Benjamen, I don’t like anything about politics and on top of that I am politically dense, I know nothing about politics. And that said, there is no way Mesach@46 is anyway close to politics, talk less of politics politicians who might come and ruin my concert.
These people talk a lot and they can easily manipulate things and make it appear I gave them a platform to front their individual interests.”
Semakula was quick to explain that his show is nothing ordinary like others and he is not looking for money to buy expensive things including cars among others.
“Let no one lie to you that I have put this concert to earn money and use it on immaterial things. I am not a kind of person who just organizes a concert to buy cars or any other things that don’t matter. You see it’s not about them, For example I have 27 year driving experience and in all those years, I have been driving different cars.
What I am simply trying to inform you is that this is not just a concert but a celebration of my musical journey dating 46 years back. I am delighted that it’s now 46 years in doing good music and I am not stopping at nothing but promise to bring you even more incredible hits with effective messages,” he said.
Asked about Hon. Member of Parliament Geofrey Lutaaya who will also be performing at the concert, Semakula said thus, “Hon. Lutaaya might be just a politician to others but to me, we are colleagues and friends and he will be performing at Mesach@46 concert as part of the Eagle’s Production team.
The concert will be happening on Friday May 19, 2023 at the Kampala Serena Hotel and later on at Maria Flo Masaka.
Mesac@46 will be featuring guest performances from Lydia Jasmine, Ronald Mayinja, Hajj Haruna Mubiru , Hon. Geofrey Lutaaya, B2C boys, Catherine Kusasira, David Lutaalo and Moureen Nantume among others.
