Do you know laughter actually heals human beings from stress related conditions? Well, if no, get it to your head! Sounds casual and rude, right? The truth is, it actually real does heal people.
Laughing is said to increase one’s life span for quite some time. So, why not laugh since it’s one of the most affordable therapies one can get on earth? To be on record, it’s not cheap though as it comes with a price to pay, in fact, for one to have a genuine laugh, they have to be happy and happiness is not that cheap, hahaha! In Africa mostly, you gotta have money to afford happiness.
Sounds scary, right? Worry not as we bring you a piece which will be able to bring you joy and happiness and by this, we mean, comedy is the universal uniting factor for happiness, it knows no borders, whether you are rich or not, you gotta have to laugh to some comedy lines and that’s exactly what this piece is all about.
Comedy may be subjective but everyone loves a good laugh whether its function is to educate, enlighten or simply entertain, a good joke is one of the most powerful communication tools. It doesn’t really matter whether its scathing contemporary satire or something else entirely but the end result is being able to make people laugh out their lungs!
Now back to business, our writer Emuk Benjamen is here to inform you that Uganda’s best comedy duo, Madrat and Chiko will be healing not only their fans but all those who will be attending it both physically and virtually.
The duo announced the return of their highly anticipated annual comedy show, Nseko Bu Seko, for its fourth season. Happening in July 7, 2023 at the UMA Multipurpose Hall, the show is sure to attract multitudes to have good time ever since the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
Nseko Buseko, loosely translated as “just for laughs,” has become a prominent fixture in Uganda’s comedy scene, showcasing the immense talent and creativity of Ugandan comedians. After a temporary hiatus due to the pandemic, Madrat and Chiko are excited to return and celebrate the rich comedic culture of Uganda.
Nseko Bu Seko has over the years provided extra-ordinary experience as comedians have used it to inform, educate and create awareness to the fans concerning various issues that arise in different communities.
With the writers’ experience in comedy, he notes that the best comedy is crafted by those who can come up with great jokes by not making the audience needlessly uncomfortable and without resorting to gratuitous profanity and vulgarity for its own sake.
And is not that the occasional blue-lane isn’t appropriate and funny, it’s just that it should be delivered with stinging eagerness and motivation instead of a dull, predictable and repetitive vocal utterance which is why comics Madrat and Chiko promised on their Nseko Bu Seko that they will poke fun at Ugandan habits and attitudes, effortlessly blending humor with current topics in society, and promised that they will with no doubt, be leaving the audience over the moon!
And by the way and just so you know, the talented Madrat and Chiko are always the obvious choice for the fans. And seeing as how they have always previously starred in the past gigs they have had be it comedy shows or not, they have had great gestures yet no one could have predicted just how successfully they would transition to the next level. For sure, the duo’s flawless comic timing and unflinching readiness to reach extremes of expression, makes them unpredictable, acerbic and hysterically funny.
It is a no brainer and needless to mention that as outrageous and borderline experimental comedy, Nseko Bu Seko exceeds the stereotypes of other comedy shows. It’s actually not quite simply over enthusiastic about making a real spectacle of the super extra-ordinary talent show they have laid their hands on, Nseko Bu Nseko according to Madrat and Chiko, only requires professional perfection from their acts.
Speaking about the event at the Talent Africa Group offices in Kololo, Madrat and Chiko expressed their commitment to delivering an exceptional display of comedy and laughter in this year’s edition. The duo has used the lockdown period to refine their craft and create a memorable experience for comedy lovers.
Uganda Waragi, one of the title sponsors, is known for its unwavering dedication to promoting arts and entertainment in Uganda. They recognize the power of comedy to bring people together and create moments of happiness.
