If you had your vest laid out for this weekend, easy. Fold it. Don’t panic.
The Absa KH3-7 Hills Run has been rescheduled to Saturday, 17th May 2026 due to unavoidable circumstances.
Venue hasn’t changed. Start and finish remain at Millennium Grounds, Lugogo. The 7 hills haven’t moved either. Kololo, Nakasero, Makerere, Namirembe, Rubaga, Old Kampala, Mengo — they’re still waiting.
Only the date shifted. Everything else is locked.
What Actually Changed: Just the Date
Let’s kill the confusion.
Old date: This weekend.
New date: 17th May 2026.
Venue: Still Millennium Grounds, Lugogo. That was always the plan for 2026.
Route: Still Kampala’s 7 historic hills. 21km for the warriors, 10km and 5km for the rest of us.
Your registration: Still secure. If you already paid, you’re still in. No need to register again.
The organisers say “unavoidable circumstances” forced the shift. In Kampala, that can mean anything from weather to state functions. What matters is you’ve been given notice, not excuses.
Why May 17th Is Actually Better
Two extra weeks is a gift if you use it.
For first-timers: The 7 Hills Run is brutal. Kibuli at kilometer 18 has broken egos. Now you have 21 more days to hit Tank Hill, Namirembe stairs, and Mbuya. Train, don’t complain.
For companies: CSR budgets and team logistics take time. The reschedule means more staff from banks, telecoms, and NGOs can join. More runners = more money raised.
For the cause: Every step counts. This run funds education for disadvantaged girls so they can reach their full potential. Staff from the Office of the Auditor General ran the 3rd edition for this. This is the 4th. A bigger turnout on May 17th means more girls stay in school.
Run, Win It, Become a Landlord
Absa didn’t come to play. The overall male and female winners will walk away with a land title. Not a promise. A title.
That’s why elites are training. That’s why your CEO suddenly bought running shoes.
But even if you’re not chasing land, you’re chasing impact. “Run So She Can” is the heartbeat. You run. A girl gets books. You sweat. She gets a future.
How to Use the Extra Time
Hit Real Hills: Stop running flat in Lugogo. Sunday morning, do Kololo to Naguru. Tuesday, do Makerere Hill repeats. Your lungs need to know pain before May 17th.
Get Your Kit Now: Don’t be that person begging for XL on May 16th. Kits are out. Sort it early.
Hydrate Like It’s Work: May is hot. Start 2.5 litres of water daily now. Cramp on Rubaga Hill and you’ll walk the rest.
Mobilize Your Crew: Running alone is hard. Running with 15 colleagues is peer pressure. Create a WhatsApp group. Name it “KH3 Landlords”.
Remember the Girl: Write her name on your bib if you can. When you want to stop on Nsambya Hill, you won’t.
The Countdown Resets, The Mission Doesn’t
Kampala doesn’t give you second chances often. You just got one.
17th May 2026. Millennium Grounds, Lugogo. Same hills. Same cause. Same land title waiting at the finish.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Don’t say you weren’t reminded.
The girls are counting on you. The hills are ready for you.
Just a little more time to prepare. Mark it.
ON ON.
