Bombo Road accident claims lives, others injured

Upto ten people have been confirmed dead after getting involved in a fatal motor accident along Kampala Gulu Highway.

One of the accident survivors perplexed

The accident happened last evening at Kibisi Village in Luwero District when a speeding Taxi burst its tire and the driver lost control before ramming into an Elf truck.

Police have confirmed that the accident involved motor vehicle registration number UBD 850J, a Toyota Hiace and UAH 316P, an Isuzu Elf.

The taxi was crashed beyond recognition.
Scrap is all that was left of the truck.

Faridah Nampiima, the PRO, Traffic and Road Safety said that inquiries are still ongoing,but they have gathered some useful information.

She said, “It is alleged that a speeding motor vehicle reg number UBD 850J Toyota Hiace that was moving from Kampala to Gulu side and while slopping to Sinalya valley burst its rear tyre, lost control and overturned several times before colliding with an oncoming motor vehicle reg no UAH 316P Isuzu which also overturned after the collision.”

The fatality has claimed 10 lives so far including eight unidentified passengers (8 female adults and 1 male in the Toyota Hiace.

Another unidentified female passenger died on the way to Mulago Hospital, taking the number to ten.
