Busoga Kingdom over the weekend crowned eleven Miss tourism Queens that represent the eleven Chiefdoms that makeup the kingdom in an event that happened at the Kyabazinga’s headquarters in Bugembe.
The event was graced by the Kingdom’s Minister for Tourism and Heritage Owek Hellen Namutamba and some Government officials especially those who emanate from Busoga.
Among the crowned beauty Queens is the curvy, gorgeous Mercy Namatende a senior Six vacist who represents Bunhole Chiefdom.
Queen Namatende in an interview expressed her excitement and what she expects to achieve while she reigns.
“l feel very special and thankful for this opportunity to serve Busoga my kingdom and also this is a great opportunity for me to inspire other young girls out there. Everything is achievable if you trust in God and believe in yourself,” Namatende said.
She also believes the crown will inspire her to contest for the Miss Uganda Beauty Pageant in the coming years. Miss Namatende who is undeniably gifted with beauty and well-shaped curvy body is not only a beauty Queen but also a confident, smart and hardworking young woman.
According to her close friends, Namatende is like a superhuman who acts fast and also has a big heart in addition to doing everything in her powers to improve the situations of other young girls so they believe the crown will give her an opportunity to meet and help many.
