The former army spokesperson and Deputy Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, Col Shaban Bantariza, has died.
Bantariza died Tuesday morning at Mulago National referral hospital where he has been receiving treatment.
The Col had been sickly for weeks and was rushed to Mulago in a very critical condition last week and admitted at Mulago’s Intensive Care Unit(ICU).
Confirming his death, Col Deo Akiiki, Deputy spokesperson of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces said Bantariza passed on at Mulago hospital where he had been admitted for the past 3 days.
“Unfortunately,comrade Bantariza breathed his last at about 2 am in the morning at Mulago hospital.”
However,It is not yet clear what took his life but Akiiki said that it’s not Covid-19 as the public think.
