Forum for Decomacratic Change (FDC) party chairperson, Proscovia Salaamu Musumba has condemned the arrest of Labour Minister, Hon. Mwesigwa Rukutana saying he is a man who rarely gets provoked and that he is a fantastic legal brain and asset.

“Rukutana is one of those few NRM people who will give professional advise of distinction. Whatever his failings, he has my counsel, Judge him fairly,” Salaamu wrote in respnose to NBS Television’s facebook post asking the public to comment on the arrest and detention of Rukutana.
Rukutana was on Monday remanded to Kakiika Prison until today (Tuesday) when he will appear before the Chief Magistrate to take plea in Ntungamo again.
Rukutana has been charged with three counts: attempted murder, malicious damage and threatening violence.

Solomon Muyita, the Judiciary spokesperson confirmed the charges placed against Rukutana.
“Attempted murder charge can only be heard by the Chief Magistrate and today he wasn’t around,” Muyita said.
