King Oyo’s coronation anniversary is just days away and will be celebrated through the Ekyooto Ha Mpango event.
The two-day event starting on the 13th to the 14 of September in Fort Portal, will see the iconic music group Blu 3 who reunited in a grand concert earlier this year at Sheraton Kampala as the headlining acts together with Fik Fameica.
Joining Blu 3 and Fik Fameica on stage will be legendary dancehall artist Beenie Gunter, alongside a host of local talents from Fort Portal, including Atwooki Richie, Muzanil Ayesiga, Tai-Tan, Irene Henda, Raya Rosette, Draei Bitsc, Hly Tremmie, and Sagio Mhza. The festival will also feature renowned DJs Tony, DJ Bash, and DJ Hash, ensuring the crowd stays on their feet and dances throughout the event.
The Ekyoto Ha Mpango Music Festival is part of the broader activities honoring and celebrating the legacy of the beloved King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV’s coronation ceremony.
In addition to the music festival, there will be an array of exciting activities including a royal tour, exciting tourism excursions to Sempaya hot springs, an exciting visit to the crater lakes, royal palace tour, chimpanzee trekking in Kibaale, Amabeere Ga Nyinamwiru, a royal tour, a fashion gala spectacular fashion show showcasing traditional and contemporary designs, and various sporting activities including golf, basketball, and netball.
This festival not only highlights the rich cultural heritage of Uganda but also promotes local tourism and community engagement.
