We have CCTV footage of Bebe Cool ‘shooting’ – Police

New facts have been revealed about the shooting incident involving singer Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool and a government security personnel this week.

Bebe Cool claimed that he was almost shot by Captain Namara which on the 19th of June in the parking yard of Peer lounge bar in Ntinda.

The singer said had he not been swift enough to disarm Namara, he wouldn’t have lived to see his kids celebrate him on fathers’ day on 21st.

However, all Bebe Cool’s claims can’t be taken for gospel truth. Police spokesperson Fred Enanga had earlier communicated that Kira road Police were continuing with Investigations into the matter.

Now, Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy PRO, Kampala Metropolitan Police has revealed what they have found out so far, and that they’re further reviewing a video of the incident for more clarity.

“The conflict arose after a minor accident. Preliminary information gathered indicates that while trying to get parking at the bar, the officer brushed Bebe Cool’s vehicle which forced the latter to come out of the vehicle and a disagreement ensued,” Owoyesigyire narrated.

“We have retrieved the CCTV footage and are reviewing the contents to establish whether a gun was drawn as alleged by Bebe Cool. We are also looking into the allegation of the physical exchange between the two parties which could have attracted other friends.”

“We have reached out to the singer and obtained his account of events. We also managed to trace Captain Namara whom we found at Gemini medical centre and as soon as he stabilizes, we shall be able to record his statement.

Owoyesigyire advised drivers to always be extra careful while reacting to traffic incidents as emotions can put one’s life in danger.

Police have since taken action against six officers who responded and further escalated the situation at Ntinda Police station, and they are currently detained at Railway Police.

More updates will understandably be availed after a proper review of the video.
