Singer-turned Politician Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone’s mother Proscovia Musoke has blamed NUP boss Bobi wine over her son’s failure.
According to the singer’s mother, Chameleone’s misfortunes only started when Bobi Wine denied him the National Unity Platform ticket.
Appearing for BBS TV’s Round About gossip show, Mrs. Proscovia cited that her son’s loss in the Kampala Lord Mayoral race is directly linked to his denial of the NUP ticket.
She revealed that Chameleone’s decision to join politics and contest as Kampala Lord Mayor was informed by Bobi Wine’s success in the Kyadondo East MP seat.
“Mayanja shared with me, way long ago, his plans of contesting for the Kampala Lord Mayoral race sometime back when he was still dropping many musical hits. He, however, let it go just like that. But when he saw his brother Bobi Wine making it in the political life, he got inspired and made up his mind to contest for the position.”
Mrs. Proscovia also revealed that Chameleone having been inspired by Bobi Wine and decided to join him, he was hurt when he was denied the opportunity to carry the party’s flag in the race, prompting him to contest independently.
She added, “I felt really annoyed when my son was denied the party’s flag but had nothing to do about it.”
