Police in Kachumbala, Bukedea district have arrested a-19-year old man for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old Primary Seven girl.

Samuel Mujuni the O/c station Kachumbala identified the arrested as Patrick Okwii, a resident of Kongoidi village in Kongunga Town Council.

Mujuni said his office received a call from the area local council one for police intervention after locals rounded up Okwii’s house and got him red handed with the young girl.

Mr. Mujuni said they arrested Okwi and the victim was rushed to Kachumbala health centre III for medical examination but the results indicate that the victim was penetrated.

“When we arrested Okwi, we took them all for the medical tests, but the results of the victim indicate penetration, so this has given us a go ahead to prove that Okwi defiled the girl,” said Mr. Mujuni.

According to Mujuni he confirmed that Okwi is now detained at Kachumbala police post and he will be handed over to Bukedea central police station before his file is forwarded for legal guidance at the resident state Antony.
