An employee of Vision Group tested positive for Covid19 over the weekend, Robert Kabushenga, the Group’s chief executive said in a Monday statement.

In a memo sent to all staff, Mr Kabushenga said the employee tested positive on Sunday and that his contacts have been urged to self-isolate for 14 days.

“I wish to inform you that Vision Group has registered a case Covid19. One of our staff working at the head office in Kampala tested positive over the weekend and the case is being handled together with and under the guidance of the Ministry of Health,” Kabushenga said.

According to his statement, management is tracking all the possible contacts at office and will collaborate with the medical workers to facilitate further tests.

“Those identified as having been in contact with the concerned staff will be required to stay at home and isolate for a period of 14 days,” the statement says.

The head office will be disinfected at regular intervals and all other staff who remain at work will be required to follow SOPs as directed by the Board of Directors, the chief executive said.

“Access to our offices will be in accordance with the requirements of Ministry of Health,” further says the statement.

Uganda has so far registered 1500 cases of the respiratory illness, 1142 recoveries and 13 deaths.
