The National Unity Platform party has this morning unleashed the team of the duly endorsed candidates for the Western Uganda Member of Parliament seats who will represent the party in the looming 2021 polls.
The list comes a day after the puzzle of the deferred central constituencies was resolved. The NUP electoral commissioner for Western Uganda says the party is warming up to liberate this region from the captivity of NRM which has overtime enjoyed unchallenged support in this area. “As NUP we are set to change the story. For quite a while, the west has been perceived to be an NRM stronghold. Let’s change this story now,” Akampurira Harris says. “All the districts have been occupied by NUP candidates who will challenge the status quo. We will liberate this region,” he adds.
“NOTICE: (PART I, Western Region) Yesterday the Executive Board of the National Unity Platform approved the following candidates for the corresponding positions in Western Uganda. Part II of this list will be released soon,” NUP announced in a Saturday statement.
