The National Unity Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, and his campaign team have been arrested in the central region on Wednesday.
His wife Barbra Itungo Kyagulanyi said he has been arrested with a team of about 90 people including his online bloggers.
Bobi Wine started with his campaigns today after breaking off temporarily following a series of events that saw three journalists – including one on his team – injured and the death of his private bodyguard, Frank Senteza.
Senteza, who died on Sunday in Busega in an incident that has stoked controversy, was buried at his ancestral home in Villa Maria, Masaka district on Monday.
NUP claimed he died after being run over by a military vehicle. The army, through spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso, responded by saying that he “fell off a speeding car Reg No UBF 850Z (drone)” that he had tried to jump on to.
