Joram Muwonge, a young vibrant entrepreneur who officially joined the political scene is ready to tussle it out with incumbent Hon. Allan Ssewanyana alias Bwino in Makindye West Constituency come 2021 parliamentary elections.
Mr. Muwonge, a staunch People Power diehard is the Man behind Joanita Beauty Products and Muwonge Group. He is a Businessman, Motivational Speaker, Mentor and Activist.
Wherever you move around Makindye West, that’s (Kibuye, Katwe, Lukuli, Nsambya, Munyonyo, Nabisalu, Salaama Road, Military Ballacks, Kulekana Stage, GABA Road etc), people chant “Tuleta Muto Mu Parliament” meaning ‘We Are Bringing Fresh Blood to Parliament.’
According to NXT Radio survey, Muwonge Joram is backed by mostly the Youths plus the Adults.
His Slogan “Twagala Work Sibigambo” loosely translated to ‘We need actions not words’ comes out at the Right time when most Ugandans call for change in the whole System from the top.
According to his manifesto, Muwonge has promised the people of Makindye the following once elected to represent the people of Makindye;
- Represent the Grassroot People in Parliament.
- Come back to his people
- Lobby for his People from Government and Abroad.
- Tackle security by sitting with local leaders and the Youths
- Lobbying for developing his constituency.
- Lobbying for the Youths from the Youths sectors plus friends abroad.
- Creating a technical institution plus a reputable Sacco.

Muwonge describes his coming as ‘Not fighting Opposition’ but rather balancing and representing his people who brought him into Parliament and defiance’
Muwonge is the Grandson of the late Mzeei Abiasali Lubega ‘a former Buganda Royalist” Known for the Road named before him ‘Lubega Road’ below Calendar Hotel. His Parents are Mr & Mrs Kasozi of Makindye.
However, the National Unity Platform (NUP) party is yet to officially release the final list of successful party flag bearers.
According to sources close to the party, the candidates are going to be put into a screening test to determine who will be given to be the party flag bearer for each district.
In Makindye West, where Muwonge is a contestant, the two other candidates, Allan Ssewanyana and David Musiri are all under the same party and are all vying for the same post.
2021 is a Year to Wait.
