Moments after the National Unity Platform party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine shared photos of his brand-new armoured Toyota V8 Land cruiser model vehicle, president Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni has directed a probe in the Uganda Revenue Authority customs clearance department, this site has learnt.
A source said Museveni has asked the URA officials to investigate how the vehicle landed in Uganda without the notice of security personnel.
By law it is strictly security agencies that are supposed to own armoured vehicles and machinery.
The brand new V8 Landcruiser is a donation gifted from combined efforts from change seeking Ugandans in the diaspora community who wanted their endeared leader, Kyagulanyi to be more secure having survived gunshots and assassination attempts by armed forces during the concluded campaign trail.
Kyagulanyi’s vehicle was shot at more than thrice during the 2021 general elections campaign period, something that inspired his supporters into making a fundraiser for a much more secure car.
In his appreciation note authored today, Hon. Kyagulanyi commended Ugandans for being sacrificial and passionate to the liberation cause.
