National Unity Platform (NUP) party vice president for Buganda region Ms. Angella Namirembe is pulling up her socks to run as an independent candidate for the post of Female youth councilor Kampala district after failing to raise Shs5,000,000 for a party ticket.

According to sources, NUP Secretary general David Lewis Lubongoya and Mr Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu also known as Chairman Nyanzi who is the coordinator of the information sector are implicated in this fraud.
Although NUP top leadership tried to resolve Ms Namirembe issue, the renown Democrat refused the party ticket after mistreatment and unfairness.
Ms Namirembe has dropped the party symbol of an umbrella and has adopted Kampala Central MP renowned symbol of a watch.
Although NUP party president Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu who doubles as the area MP for Kyadondo East said that the party will not support anybody who is not on a party ticket, recently he is making adjustment on his positions.

According to a privy source Mr Wine is to support various candidates from other political parties and independent candidates including Ms Namirembe.
