The National Unity Platform (NUP) aspirant for Makindye West, Joram Muwonge who was recently trounced by incumbent Allan Ssewanyana during the party’s vetting process, has conceded defeat.
The youthful Muwonge told this website that he is ready to work with Ssewanyana but he won’t go against his party to run as an independent candidate.
Several NUP members who lost in the recently concluded vetting process have gone ahead to betray their party to stand on the independent ticket.
However, party strong members like Muwonge, have defied all the odds to remain loyal to the party objectives and wait for their time to serve.
Muwonge contends that he started the trail of People Power in Makindye, declaring his MP interests after its inception as a young boy ‘as he was referred.’
“To strongly support my argument, I can earn a comfortable LIVING without standing against my Party’s opinion, as seen in the pictures from my own Company products, Joanita beauty products,” he said.
“I respect my party’s decision and I cannot go against it since I’m NOT FIGHTING FOR A 2ND POSITION. Reason being, I showed interest for NUP Member of Parliament (MP) ticket endorsement for Makindye West not otherwise because I know our Foundation as People Power,”
“My focus from the start was to see My President Kyagulanyi successfully accomplish #Mission2021 when we are together so I cannot betray the Struggle.”
“I will Continue Serving my People behind curtains as I wait for an official leadership Post. I’m so ambitious for power that’s why I normally lead but let me stand with our Party Ticket holder for now.”
I congratulate you Hon Allan Ssewanyana.
