Police in Bukedea central police station in Bukedea district have on Thursday afternoon arrested National Resistance Movement – NRM’s self-proclaimed Yellow General also known as Arafat Oyo.
The chairperson publicity for NRM in the district was arrested on grounds of using Uganda People’s defence Forces – UPDF stars and the yellow beret.
Mr. Oyo was later released but the uniform was impounded by police, Ezra Tugume the district police commander confirmed this.
“We arrested him after getting information that he was on yellow combat full of army stars with registration code commander 001. We rushed and pounded his dress. To confirm also, he had the army stars that the UPDF officers use,” Tugume said.
Tugume said police after pounding into the oyo dress realized Oyo whoever the investigations had been launched upon him.
“We intercepted Oyo and we pounded his combat full of army ranks decorated so our investigations are ongoing and when we finish investigations, an action will be taken,” said Mr. Tugume.
Arafat Oyo the NRM party publicity when reached on his phone was not reachable at the moment.
