President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will tentatively address the country on the COVID-19 pandemic this Saturday, September 19th at 8pm. This is according to Senior Presidential Press Secretary Don Wanyama.
“The tentative date for the Presidential Address on the Covid-19 pandemic is Saturday, September 19th at 8pm. In case of adjustments/changes, we shall keep you posted,” Wanyama Tweeted.
President Yoweri Museveni last month said he would update the country on the COVID-19 situation this week.
But sources said the President had not yet met the COVID-19 taskforce to update him with the latest developments.
H.E Museveni is expected to come out with new measures to help control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and also further ease the lock-down that’s been on in the country since March.
Key among the issues he is expected to give guidelines key issues like reopening of schools and coming ‘scientific’ elections proposed by the Electoral Commission, with several parties now already involved in picking candidates to contest on different positions of different regions.
