Man United will miss the services of the trio of Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani and Harry Maguire when they take on Paris Saint-Germain in their first round of Champions League group fixture on Tuesday, October 20.

Edison Cavani will also play no role in the fixture as previously thought, but his fellow transfer deadline day signing Alex Telles is sure to make his debut.

It was initially thought Cavani could make his United bow against his former side, but Kampala Sqoop now understands the veteran striker who joined the Red Devils on a free transfer missed the traveling party.

On the other hand, it remains unclear why Maguire was also not included in the squad that jetted to France despite enjoying a resurgence during United’s dramatic late 4-1 win over Newcastle at the weekend.

Manchester United come from behind to seal emphatic 4-1 victory over Newcastle Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood are among the United players who missed the France trip.

In his absence, Eric Bailly is sure to partner Victor Lindelof in the Red Devils’ heart of defence, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka taking his place in the right back.

Alex Telles, who completed his switch to Old Trafford on transfer deadline day is likely to make his debut against the French giants, with the ex-Porto star replacing Luke Shaw in the left-back position.

Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba could possibly be drafted to provide cover in the midfield as Bruno Fernandes playing his favourite no.10 role.

Marcus Rashford is expected to keep his place upfront in the left-wing, with Juan Mata possibly playing on the right in the absence of Mason Greenwood who is out with an unspecified injury.

Anthony Martial, who is currently serving suspension in the Premier League will definitely return to the fold, leading the goal hunt in attack.

The fixture is expected to evoke memories of 2018 when the Manchester club staged a dramatic comeback to stun the French giants and subsequently book a place in the quarter finals of the European competition.

Possible Man United line up vs PSG:

Goalkeeper: De Gea

Defenders: Telles, Bailly, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka

Midfielders: Matic, Pogba, Fernandes, Mata

 Forwards: Rashford, Martial
