Finally, the NRM Electoral Commission of Soroti City is to hold its primary elections for contenders vying for the party’s ticket for Divisional City Mayors and City councilors on 14th Monday.

On Friday polls, as the rest of the Country was conducting party primaries, Soroti city did not because the authorities had failed to gazette the electoral boundaries.
The NRM district registrar Musa Oroma, has confirmed that the party leadership has been in consultative meetings with the responsible Elections authorities finally gazette boundaries.
“Am happy to announce to the people of Soroti City that the NRM party shall be conducting its party elections on Monday 14th September”.
Oroma said some of the areas that were previously not demarcated and now have been cleared to conduct the elections for both Soroti West Constituency and Soroti East Constituency includes Agora, Oderai, Arapai, Nakatunya, Aloet, Pamba, Akisim, Senior quarters, Majengo, Opiyai and Agama.

Willy Bisanga the Chairperson NRM Soroti City says the district and municipal council have already harmonized on the city boundaries and which areas have been annexed to the city. He noted that city status is a wakeup call to mobilize for resources.
John Edielu Eperu one of the aspirants for Division Mayor Soroti West said he ready to work with the local community to ensure that he serves the interests of the local people if he elected into power.
