
Mbarara City football club and Uganda Revenue Auhtority played out a-1 all stalemate in their league opener at the Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara.
URA new signing Stephen Mukwala scored in the 30th minute to put the tax collectors in the lead before Jude Ssemugabi leveled for the hosts in the 81st minute.
Eighteen minutes later, the tax collectors could have doubled the lead but Muhammed Ssekeba, the Lions goal keeper saved the penalty.
Meanwhile in other season opening matches SC Villa drew 2-2 with SC Villa. Emmanuel Waswa scored for the hosts in the 5th minute before the visitors leveling matters in the in the 33rd minute thanks to Richard Wandyaka.
Musa Esenu gave BUL a lead ten minutes into the second half. Villa’s Benson Muhindo was given matching orders in the 68th minute of the game. However, the 10-jogoos pulled an equalizer in the 78th minute of the game thanks to Nicholas Kabonge.
In the final game of the day, Police Fc drew 0-0 with Wakiso Giants at the MTN Phillip Omondi stadium. In this match all eyes were on Police’s new captain Tony Mawejje who returned to the club after fourteen years but he was substituted in the 45th minute seemingly injured.
